There are good and bad insurance companies out there, just like there are good and bad doctors, nurses and patients. Most people have little if any say about what company they go with since it is normally their employer that chooses and desides what the benefits are. Your employer is well aware what is and isn't covered as part of the contract they signed on your behalf. If you have a choice, all I can say is research a company before going with it. Most (at least the good ones) are accredited by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). You can check out quality and satisfaction scores there.
