NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt University School of Nursing named an Orangeburg woman among the school’s “Top 100 Leaders” in honor of the school’s 100th year anniversary.
Bobbi Jean Perdue of Orangeburg was recognized for developing and administering nursing education programs that recruit, retain and graduate students from low-income, urban and minority backgrounds.
Perdue was honored for making an impact in the world of health care and nursing and was acknowledged during the school’s Centennial Gala at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel Oct. 23.
“I’ve always believed that nurses can go anywhere and do anything,” said Colleen Conway-Welch, Ph.D., dean of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. “These 100 men and women illustrate just that. For example, they are authors, professors, policymakers, entrepreneurs and informatics specialists, to name a few, who have made a profound impact throughout the country.”
The VUSN Top 100 Leaders is comprised of individuals in virtually every aspect of health care.
