BrightStar Healthcare has named Carter Smith its director of nursing.


Smith has worked in health care for 10 years, including time spent as director of nursing at psychiatric residential facilities in Pickens and Simpsonville. Smith's duties with BrightStar involve management of nursing practices, development of marketing campaigns and direct referral sales.

BrightStar is a national franchise that pairs clients with caregivers for companion and medical support. BrightStar also helps hospitals, clinics, physician offices and rehabilitation facilities with staffing.

I attempted to apply at their new local office but got nowhere. Apparently they do not hire on a continuous basis despite the barrage of ads. I'll say one thing though, it is better to be turned away at the door than to go through the entire hiring process then not get called for work. How dumb to be able to call yourself an employee, but one that doesn't work!
