Nicole Zeller, who is the new director of nursing programs at Lake Land, is one of only five educators throughout the country selected for the National League for Nursing/Johnson & Johnson Faculty Leadership and Mentoring Program.

The program couples five early and mid-career faculty members, like Zeller, with five National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education Fellows. The fellows are recognized leaders in nursing education and can share valuable advice with mid-career faculty members.

Through a 12-month period, Zeller will work with her mentor on individual leadership development, as well as a group project to be presented at the 2009 NLN Education Summit.

Zeller was recently headed to New York for the first session this year. She was excited to work with her mentor to start studying ways to further the college’s program.

“My goal for our program is to create a more interactive program,” Zellersaid.

“This fellowship is extremely valuable,” she explained. “Not only is this monetarily worth a lot, but the lessons learned will be extremely valuable for the college.”
