hello
i really had to reply to this thread. i am a lpn living in chicago who has just finished the last of my prerequisite courses in biology and microbiology this past summer. i was devastated to learn that the main two south side city colleges for minorities were closing their doors to new nursing applicants. i have worked as a lpn for the past 6 and a half years. it took me too long to finally decide to do it and now i dont have anywhere to go. daley and malcolm x will be overrun with nursing applications this fall. i will not be applying. instead i will just go to a private school in indiana called itt. they are new to the nursing field but have been open for two years now. i am too tired to wait to get into daley, malcolm, truman, wright, or ivytech (i took the majority of my classes there). it is getting so hard to become an registered nurse in chicago unless u are in a bsn program. does anyone agree with me?
