    At the Beginning

Hi everyone! I am a 36yo mom of 3 and just starting at the beginning of my nursing journey. Right now I am signing up for a couple of classes this summer then a full load come fall (pre-reqs) I am hoping to be able to apply to LPN school in 3 semesters. (fingers crossed!)

Welcome, April; nice to meet you.

Jut to be curious: how long of a program is your LPN? Mine was a year. You'll have to keep us posted on how classes are going; and if there's anything you need help on, give a yell! We are all students at one time or another.

    Hope to see you often!

Hi cougarnurse and thanks! I believe it is 2 semesters and a summer session. I will have done some of the nursing courses by that time already though..(I was advised to start working on some of the nursing courses w/ pre-reqs to get in quicker and to make my nursing school load easier- I am transferring from a CC).

If there is anything I can do to help, let me know. I am sure others might feel the same way.

Any helpful links you come across in school, please let us know about them. They'd help others, right?

By the way, check your State Board of Nursing link for useful info on licensure, etc. I know that's a way off, but you can also see how your school is doing there.

Grandma, you have any helpful links?

I should restate my OP. I will apply to the program next winter or as soon as I can. I was told to estimate 3 semesters to get into the program with the wait list.

thanks for the tip on checking w/ the state board too.

Was an LPN for several years at least, worked bit by bit toward the RN-BSN. Have done Geriatrics/LTC for the most part.

We do have a Holistic Nursing Forum under the Specialty section. Just remembered I should mention it.....
