I am having problems getting a job and eventhough, I found one they are requiring me to get a ventilator certification. Where do I find those programs or classes to get a ventilator certification program? please help me. I am a new grad and recenlty passed the boards. very desperate need of a job to pay off my school loans. this certification is the only way to assure me of finding a job here in california. I need to find one here somewhere in california, between LA and san diego. thank you.

I don't know of a specific ventilator certification but that doesn't mean that it isn't out there. Did you ask the inteviewer where their nurses received this training? It sounds like something that they might have designed or possibly worked with a homestudy program to offer inside. I developed one for my own facility and it is used for ICU annual competency and new hire orientation. Before becoming an RN, I was an RRT.

Well, there's the answer. I thinks a little overkill to require this certification of new grads applying for ANY job and not just ED or Critical Care?
