    I think that the best thing to do is answer their questions and show your support. I have dealt with patients that received the news from a doctor who spoke to them like a specimen rather than a human being. This is a rare occurrence and most doctors tend to be sympathetic but, sometimes patients feel that they have so many questions and none get answered. I think the best thing to do it be supportive and spend time with them when you can.

    I think the nurse should be comfortable with discussing the concerns of the patient, not just about the treatment, how to manage the disease or anything that is technical in nature.We should also be comfortable discussing with them about the possibility of failure in treatments and even their end of life questions, that way we can also help alleviate their fears and anxiety
