    Question Tax Question

    I worked Jan. and Feb. 2011 in Alaska. My permanent residence is in Alabama. I filed federal tax but what do I do abou my state tax?

    From what I remember, there are guidelines on the tax forms for situations like these. I think you file in both states, however.

    Typically you would file a nonresident return for Alaska and a resident form for Alabama. Go to the website for each, read the instructions, and download the necessary forms. You should be able to do this for yourself without having to pay a tax professional.
