    newbie in need of info

hi y'all, have just found this web site. am in need of some helping info.
I am an LPN who has been out of practice since '99 except for a brief period in '03 when I worked for a correctional facility(hated it). I want to fully return to practicing nursing. reasons for break were due to health issues (fibro, et al) have been working in hospitality/food service since 2000.
am current in home state licensure, CPR etc. but road blocks to local jobs and out of state jobs have been no real recent employment in nursing.(other than the 2 1/2 months I worked at the county detention center), can't get licensure in GA due to lack of required 500 hours within past 5 years. unless I take a state approved refresher course. I live in a COMPACT state, but GA is not a member where I am thinking about moving.
MS, where I live, currently has no programs for refresher courses for LPNs. that I know of.
anyway, would appreciate any insights, info , suggestions
plus, what about salaries, cost of living in Atlanta area? Richmond.VA? Texas?
    help, please.

Have you checked into refresher courses on line? Sometimes
you can access some information about hospitals and nursing homes on line.
